The only real question when someone is vacillating between choosing Catholicism or Eastern Orthodox that should be asked is who has a claim to the seat of Peter. Both churches recognize that Christ himself established A CHURCH (not church plural) and granted that church-specific teaching authority. To confess Orthodoxy or Catholicism requires you to accept that as fact, not as an opinion you can disagree with, so either way, you are acknowledging this. The question becomes who truly has inherited that teaching authority From Christ through Peter? Who is the ONE HOLY, CATHOLIC & APOSTOLIC CHURCH? If you choose to not research that intensively and roll the dice based on familiarity or preference you are rolling the dice on the eternal status of your soul. Both The Church and Orthodoxy regard those that knowingly refuse to accept the teachings of the Apostolic church put themselves outside the fold and become the opponents of Christ.
To be aware of this and choose to be ignorant of it are no longer within the grey area theological nuance of "who outside the church can be saved".
So happy to have the roof done! Thanks be to God! Without having the proper tools like scaffolding and a nail gun it was quite precarious at times and took much longer than what a professional can do but it's done! Like many things during this project, I figured out the best way to do it halfway through. In the second half of the roof, I figured out that taking the extra few minutes on every course to snap a chalk line saved a bunch of time on the back end because I could just line up every following shingle quickly in succession all the way across.
The ridge cap (top peak of the roof) didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to look like but I can't swing another $100+ to rebuy the pieces to make it as aesthetically pleasing as I would like. It works as its intended, just doesnt look like exactly how I would like.
I was working all day to get that last 1/2 of the roof finished and got to the peak around 10:30 pm. and wanted to JUST GET IT DONE. If i could do it over again I would ...

This is a recreation of a skull on Mt. Athos, where it reminds pilgrims that life is fleeting and we must remember we will die someday to face our maker. Often we see paintings of saints, monks and theologians holding a skull or on their desk. This imagery was very common in Christianity for most of its history and is a good reminder to us today and would make an excellent addition to anyone's prayer wall or chapel
This skull is direct molded from a real human skull out of artificial stone/resin composite. This skull measures 6.75"x6"x5" with a circumference of 19". Skull is intact with no split skull cap, hollow cranium, accurate eye orbits, and an interior nasal cavity. The paint is red oxide and hand-painted for each order.
