Just as Christ was betrayed, mocked, beaten so will his mystical body.
If one had been at the foot of the cross that day one could be scandalized and lose heart. His victory is assured as is his church's.
It is easy to become scandalized by the actions of those in the Church. The corruption, the scandals, lack of discipline, and irreverence by both laymen and in the episcopate can understandably make us lose heart.
This is not new. Christ's mystical body, his church has always been at war with the world. Those of use on earth are called the Church Militant for a reason. The forces of evil attack the church as they attacked him. They tempt those in the church as the Prince of this world attempted to tempt Christ.
Christ cannot fall into sin, but man can. Man is corruptible and the prince attacks priests, bishops, and popes precisely because it leads many to despair and lose faith.
We must perserve, our souls depend on it.
All we can do is pray more, fast more, adore more. Offer reparations to God so he might turn those evil men away from their fallen nature and send us many holy priests, Bishops and Popes.
Christ's mystical body, the church, will forever be locked in battle and the main target of the machinations of the evil one. There will always be scandal and corruption, there will always be those who call themselves members of his church failing to live up to the example of Christ, but we cannot let anothers sin scandalize us into losing hope in the promised victory and the kingdom of Heaven.

So happy to have the roof done! Thanks be to God! Without having the proper tools like scaffolding and a nail gun it was quite precarious at times and took much longer than what a professional can do but it's done! Like many things during this project, I figured out the best way to do it halfway through. In the second half of the roof, I figured out that taking the extra few minutes on every course to snap a chalk line saved a bunch of time on the back end because I could just line up every following shingle quickly in succession all the way across.
The ridge cap (top peak of the roof) didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to look like but I can't swing another $100+ to rebuy the pieces to make it as aesthetically pleasing as I would like. It works as its intended, just doesnt look like exactly how I would like.

When people talk about “science” they mean the faith of scientism, their actions betray that. Conservatives and many Christians are completely blind to what is meant by the word and its why they are completely confused as to how “the science” constantly changes and is completely held as dogma from one day to the next even when in opposition to itself only days before.
